Meet Dr. Ethan Potter

DSW, LCSW, ACSW

Licensed in Missouri, South Dakota, and Vermont

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over seven years of experience in mental health practice, medical social work, juvenile justice, and nonprofit leadership. I hold a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from Capella University — where my capstone research examined how social work supervisors integrate self-care into their practice — and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Missouri State University.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an Assistant Professor of Social Work and have taught graduate and undergraduate courses since 2021. I also provide clinical supervision for Missouri LMSW candidates through WheelHouse Therapy.

My approach is person-centered. I believe you already have what it takes — my job is to help you find it, trust it, and use it. I'm not rigid about technique; I follow what you actually need. I'll be honest with you when I see something worth naming, and I'll pay attention to whether the work is sustainable for you, not just whether you're making progress on paper.
